We regret to announce that KidsPeace has decided to cancel the 2019 KidsPeace Trick or Trot 5K Race/One Mile Walk event scheduled for October 26 at the Camden Yards Sports Complex in Baltimore.

We made this difficult decision based on a lack of expected participation in the event among runners and walkers, indicated by advance registrations.  Based on this data, we believe that we will not be able to stage the type of outstanding event experience that our supporters and sponsors deserve, and that as a result it is appropriate to cancel this year’s event. On behalf of KidsPeace Foster Care, we want to thank all our dedicated supporters and volunteers, and special appreciation goes out to the members of our Maryland Board of Associates, who have worked so hard to make the Trick or Trot a premier event in our region.  We also want to express our gratitude to our generous sponsors, and to all those who have participated in Trick or Trot events since its first running in 2009.  Thanks to the efforts of all these groups over the past ten years, KidsPeace has been able to raise almost $700,000 to help improve the lives of foster children in Maryland – an accomplishment in which all of us should take pride and satisfaction.

We will be reaching out to those individuals who previously registered for the 2019 event to arrange for refunds of their entry fees, and KidsPeace will be evaluating further potential fundraising opportunities in the region in 2020.
